BUNKER 77 BY JMM: GENETIC SPACE CHILD
Presenting a limited-edition collection of handcrafted spectacles and jewelry inspired by the radical life and enduring legend of Adolph Bernard “Bunker” Spreckels III, a surf prodigy, cultural insurgent, and reluctant heir to an American dynasty. Developed in dialogue with Takuji Masuda’s award-winning documentary, BUNKER 77 (2016), the collection draws upon archival film for inspiration, with each design reflecting a distinct chapter of Bunker’s life and legend.

Named for the moniker bestowed upon him by surf legend Miki Dora, the GENETIC SPACE CHILD references the spectacles worn by Bunker while filming scenes for an unfinished film at the Hyatt Hotel in West Hollywood in 1976, capturing a life flickering between fame and fiction.
