Balanced spectacles handcrafted in Japan with grace and gravitas, these limited-edition spectacles are inspired by Tatsuhiko Shibusawa (1928-1987), a novelist, art critic, and translator who became a leader in midcentury Japan’s avant-garde. Enthusiastically embracing the surrealist movement, Shibusawa introduced French writers to a Japanese audience through his translations of luminaries such as André Breton and Jean Cocteau, producing an influential body of essays, literary criticism, and original works that informed and influenced the flourishing literary culture of post-WWII Japan.
