What unfolds is a study of suggestiveness and sophistication, a rich visual narrative informed by the exploits of the infamous art dealer Fernand Legros—a collector, a seducer, a fabulist, perhaps even a fraud. Indeed, this season’s central inspiration is an elegant manipulator, a patron of fantasy, moving through rooms of influence with theatrical poise and superlative style.

Legros, best remembered as the cunning handler of master forger Elmyr de Hory, embodied a paradox both garish and seductive: part connoisseur, part conman. He trafficked not only in fakes but in fantasy, curating personas as deliberately as paintings, living a life where truth was elastic and taste was power. Named after the biography written by prolific French author and cultivator of controversy Roger Peyrefitte, Tableaux De Chasse is a homage to this cult figure of cosmopolitan mischief—a meditation on artifice and aspiration, on the masks we wear and the myths we build.

Featuring a cast of styles inspired by real-life spectacles—including the commanding oversized eyewear favored by Legros himself—the new campaign presents a collection of limited-edition eyewear as symbols of elegance shaped through subversion. Here, we do not distinguish between what’s authentic and what’s performed. Instead, we revel in the often gorgeous gray area between truth and lies.

In this theater of mirrors and lenses, Jacques Marie Mage offers a new vision of heritage and high craft—not as fixed principles, but as evolving expressions. For Tableaux De Chasse is a hunt not for trophies, but for transformation. A celebration of illusion as invitation, and identity as art.
