Named after Thelonious Monk’s landmark 1958 live album, these limited-edition spectacles are informed by the distinctive eyewear worn by the artist during his celebrated performances at the legendary Minton's Playhouse in Harlem, NYC. Jacques Marie Mage proudly presents a special collection of limited-edition eyewear honoring one of the most original and influential artists in the history of modern music. Emerging from the vibrant jazz clubs of Harlem and Lower Manhattan, alongside innovators like Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Sonny Rollins, Monk forged a singular artistic language defined by rhythmic invention and uncompromising individuality. Like his unforgettable compositions, these handcrafted collectibles balance discipline with daring, paying tribute to a creative legacy that forever changed the language of jazz.

Limited-edition spectacles of the Thelonious Monk by JMM collection are received in a custom red linen-wrapped monograph box with debossed ‘MONK’ hallmark, which includes our signature envelope eyewear case in custom red leather with a moderate grain and a magnetic closure; a commemorative double-sided microfiber cleaning cloth featuring a photograph of Thelonious Monk originally included on the cover of his album, Monk (1964); and a letterpress authenticity card with collection details, craftsmen’s signatures, and handwritten limited-edition number. While supplies last, each limited-edition frame will be accompanied by an exclusive reissue of Monk Live In Paris, 1967, Volume One, a recently unearthed and fully restored recording captured at the height of Monk’s creative powers.
