JEWELRY OF JACQUES MARIE MAGE

The culmination of many years spent engaging with the powerful traditions of artisanship in the American West, our limited-edition, handcrafted jewelry honors the region’s rich symbolism and deep history of silversmithing and lapidary arts, each bold and sculptural expression handcrafted with artistry and generational expertise.

Locally Crafted, Ethically Sourced

The jewelry of JMM is produced using ethically sourced sterling silver and or recycled gold that is certified conflict-free (Dodd Frank Act-compliant) and contains no added lead or cadmium. Jewelry may include natural turquoise hand-selected specifically for its sharpness, color, and marbling; as well as other responsibly sourced gemstones. Masterfully made, jewelry is meticulously sized, polished, and finished by hand, resulting in modern heirlooms that exceed expectations and standards.

The Art of Inlay

Jewelry of JMM incorporates different turquoises from some of the oldest and highest producing mines in North America. Every piece is unique, increasingly rare, and has its own story. Turquoise is sourced, cut, shaped, and set by Albuquerque-based jeweler and artist Jonathan McKinney, a second-generation jeweler whose mother was born and raised in Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico, one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States.

For the Last Frontier collection, we incorporate different turquoises from some of the oldest mines in North America, as well as other responsibly sourced gemstones. Turquoise is thoughtfully sourced, hand-shaped, and hand-polished in Albuquerque, NM, by an artisanal jewelry artist with generational expertise and an ancestral connection to the land.

Sourced from one of the oldest turquoise mines in the world, nestled in the Acerbate Mountains northwest of Arizona, since the 1880s Kingman has been celebrated for producing beautiful, high-quality stones featuring an array of vibrant green and blue shade.

Producing some of the most famous and highly desired of the Nevada turquoise, the mine’s exceptional stones are known around the world for their beautiful clear blue and dark blue webs and acclaimed for their ability to hold color and not fade.

Sourced from a small mine in Tonopah, Nevada, this rare stone comes in a variety of earthy colors, but is especially known for a matrix of brilliant blue and black chert, a fine-grained sedimentary rock composed of microcrystalline quartz.

Originating from a small mine located in the Candelaria hills near Tonopah, Nevada, this rare and highly sought after material is characterized by its beautiful blue stones featuring an intricate black web matrix.

Frequently used in Native American jewelry, this stone was first commercially produced from the Dry Creek Turquoise Mine in Tonopah, Nevada. Often presumed to be turquoise, the material is prized for its pure white stone and unique black chert webbing.

Along with precious opal, this stone is one of Australia's best known gemstones. A variety of jasper that has not been found anywhere else in the world, its beautiful colors occur primarily from the natural inclusion of iron and manganese.

Greatly prized in the Middle Ages, this dark-green stone features nodules of bright-red jasper distributed throughout its mass, a spellbinding color story for a high-quality stone renowned for its strength and polishability.
