YEAR: SPRING 2020

EDITION: 272/450

FRAME STAMP: JMMRORX-3C

HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN

Originally released as part of the Spring 2020 collection, the “Roy” are distinctive ‘70s-inspired aviators that reflect a different facet of the Studio 54 mythology—one less about spectacle alone, and more about power, presence, and the performance of success.

Handcrafted in Japan from lightweight titanium, with a sculptural double-brow bar, monoblock hinges, and refined hairline details, these are commanding expressions of form, both sleek and deliberate, precise and indulgent.

If the dance floor of Studio 54 was democracy, then its perimeter—velvet banquettes, shadowed corners, and the slow churn of whispered introductions—was something closer to strategy. Deals were struck between dances, reputations made in passing glances, fortunes imagined in the flicker of mirrored light.

The “Roy” channels this duality—part libertine, part operator, every gesture imbued with intent. These are aviators for those who understand that the party is only part of the story. The rest is written in what happens just beyond the spotlight—where desire, discipline, and ambition quietly converge.

POWER AFTER DARK

Behind the spectacle of Studio 54 existed another current—quieter, sharper, but no less intoxicating. Beyond the dancefloor’s democratic abandon, influence moved in low light, where ambition, access, and allure converged. In this theater of shadow and shimmer, presence was currency, every entrance carried meaning, and surely not everything that glimmered was gold.

THE SUPER SEVENTIES

If Origins marked a return to first principles, our second curated collection of archival gems turns toward a moment of pure release, an era when form gave way to feeling and spectacle became a way of life.

With this second offering from Réserve, we step into the charged atmosphere of the late-1970s, from NYC—where the boundaries between nightlife, art, music, and cinema dissolved into a fevered, electric exchange—to London’s Savile Row, where bold creations, over-the-top window displays, and champagne-fueled appointments brought a radical new approach to tailoring and contemporary style.

The Super Seventies draws from this fevered convergence, assembling a tightly edited offering of rare spectacles that embody the era’s sense of elegance, irreverence, and provocation. These are objects shaped by a cultural moment where disco met downtown, fashion became performance, and the night offered myriad ways of escape.

Here, we do not simply remember, but revel in archival styles that channel the personalities and provocations of a decade where the boundaries between nightlife, art, music, and cinema dissolved into a single, shimmering continuum…
