THUNDERCLOUD

Thundercloud

COLOR: ROVER

YEAR: SUMMER 2022

EDITION: 141/150

FRAME STAMP: JMMTC-20

HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN

Originally released in Summer 2022 as part of The Last Frontier III collection, the Thundercloud brought together several of the motifs and materials that would become synonymous with Jacques Marie Mage's ongoing exploration of the American West. A soft rectangular lens shape and flat brow establish a steady, workmanlike silhouette, while silver, turquoise, and stylized ‘thunderbird’ medallions summon a lineage of engraved silverwork, ornamented riding gear, and the irresistible urge to elevate even the hardest-worn objects.

Our expression of a ‘thunderbird’ appears here as a sharply rendered silver cameo with turquoise inlay, its angular geometry touched with a distinctly Art Deco spirit. Set proudly at the temple, it evokes the silver conchos, saddle ornaments, and ceremonial adornments that transformed the working traditions of the American West into enduring expressions of artistry, where every engraved flourish carried the weight of a maker's hand.

Rover’s ‘Bottle Green’ acetate lends new splendor to the sterling silver and turquoise, enriching their striking interplay with an earthy elegance. Rich, uncommon, and immediately recognizable, it remains among the most compelling expressions of The Last Frontier, balancing rugged resolve with unmistakable cowboy swagger.
